Travel & Accommodations

Getting to Estes Park

By Air: The closest major airport is Denver International Airport (DEN), approximately 90 minutes from Estes Park.
By Car: Estes Park is about 1.5 hours northwest of Denver via I-25 and US-34.

Getting Around Estes Park

Visit Estes Park has a helpful getting around guide (maps, shuttles, parking, and more).

Free town shuttle

The Town of Estes Park runs free seasonal shuttles (typically Memorial Day weekend through mid‑October). The Visit Estes Park shuttle overview links to full route details; for live dates and times, check estes.org/transit.

When the shuttles are running, service is typically 9:00 AM–9:00 PM (confirm on the schedule linked above for any updates). The shuttle wraps up well before our night ends at 11:00 PM. On the Gold Route, Della Terra sits between stops 5 and 6. Unfortunately, it is not a shuttle stop. For our wedding, we're also offering limited private shuttles (see below); otherwise, driving or booking a local ride remains a reliable option.

Wedding day shuttles

We've arranged two 14-passenger shuttles running continuous loops:

  • To the wedding: 4:45–5:45 PM
  • After the wedding: 11:00 PM–12:00 AM

Pickup stops (to the venue):

  • Expedition Lodge — 1701 N Lake Ave, Estes Park, CO 80517
  • Estes Park Visitor Center — 500 Big Thompson Ave, Estes Park, CO 80517

Return stops (after the event):

  • The Wheel Bar — 132 E Elkhorn Ave, Estes Park, CO 80517
  • Estes Park Visitor Center — 500 Big Thompson Ave, Estes Park, CO 80517
  • Expedition Lodge — 1701 N Lake Ave, Estes Park, CO 80517

Space is limited and we may not be able to accommodate everyone. Letting us know you're interested helps us plan — it is not a guaranteed seat.

Local ride services

Estes Park does not have Uber or Lyft. These local companies can arrange rides like a taxi or private car:

Hotels

Estes Park has plenty of great places to stay, from cabins to lodges and resorts. You are welcome to book wherever you like; we are not expecting everyone to stay in the same place.

July is a busy time in the mountains, so we recommend locking in lodging sooner rather than later, wherever you choose.

Optional room block: Expedition Lodge

We have a small room block at Expedition Lodge if you want a convenient option. There is no pressure to use it.

  • Expedition Lodge Estes Park — 1701 N Lake Ave, Estes Park, CO 80517
  • Phone: (970) 586-5363 — mention the Bowman wedding room block when booking
  • Block nights: July 16–18, 2026 (around our Friday wedding day)
  • Group rate: $189/night (run of house); taxes and a nightly amenity fee also apply (see below)
  • Book by June 16, 2026 to stay within the block; after that, rooms and the group rate are not guaranteed
  • Includes Wi‑Fi, breakfast, self-parking, indoor heated pool, and arcade access (per hotel)
Rates, policies, and other details

The $189 rate is per night before add-ons: the hotel also charges a $10/night amenity fee and 14.2% tax on the room (figures from our group agreement).

Payment for the room, taxes, and incidentals is collected when you check in (individual folios).

Cancellations: full refund if you cancel at least 48 hours before your scheduled arrival, per the hotel's policy for this block.

June 16, 2026 is the cutoff date: any rooms in the block that are not reserved by then may be released to the public. Requests after that date depend on what the hotel still has available and at what rate.

Arriving early or staying past the block dates may be possible only if space is available, at the hotel's standard rates.

Things to Do in Colorado

If your trip has any wiggle room, we pulled together a few of our favorite things to do around Estes, in the park, and down in Denver — the kind of stuff we would send to a friend visiting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the ceremony be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors, with the dinner and reception moving indoors. Please dress accordingly for outdoor mountain weather in the evening.

What should I wear?

Semi-formal/cocktail attire. Since the ceremony and cocktail hour are outdoors, and evenings in the mountains can be cool, please bring a light jacket, sweater, or wrap. The dinner and reception will be indoors.

Are children invited?

We love your little ones! Children of the family are welcome to celebrate with us.

What's the weather like in July?

July in Estes Park is typically warm during the day (70-80°F) but cools down significantly in the evening (40-50°F), especially at higher elevations. Since our ceremony and cocktail hour are outdoors starting at 6:00 PM, please bring a light jacket, sweater, or wrap for the outdoor portions. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in the mountains, so we recommend checking the forecast and being prepared for variable weather conditions. The dinner and reception will be held indoors.

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by June 1, 2026. You can RSVP through our website or the invitation.
